Tips 1

Business person of the year 2021

Our very own CEO and Founder Ed Chamberlain is one of the finalists for this years’ business person of the year!

Ed runs three businesses (separate legal entities, but shared importance!), all interlinked in that they sit in the recruitment sector. These include Altus Partners, a Private Equity specialist Executive Search company, C&C Search & Academy – A support staff and training recruitment firm and of course, Stryve!

They all share the same goal of differentiating from competitors in their offering, approach, and product.

“We are or aspire to be market leaders, defined by our reputation and successful track record.”
Ed Chamberlain, Founder and CEO.

Despite being separate in their day-to-day operations and having both on-site and remote teams, we also have a shared ethos of:

• Reputation being at the heart of what we do

• Going above and beyond for the customer or client

• Working every day to be better than before in the product we offer clients; and

• To positively impact our industry.

Regarding the latter point, this ranges from enhancing diversity within our industry (work with the Diversity Project and Level 20), training the next generation of hiring managers (clients include Amazon, Sony, Warner Brothers and Campbell Soup), working with charitable partners (Mind and The Young Women’s Trust) and holding ourselves to account through external bodies (BCorp pending company).

Ed’s journey has spiralled out from his love of creating things, making a change in everything he does and ultimately being a positive role model for his children and colleagues all of which has led him to make the shortlist this year – fingers crossed!

Tips 2

Website of the year 2021

*Blushes* what can we say we love our new website!

“For us an amazing website is the perfect blend of design, user experience, content and ultimately the value you give to each of your visitors.”
Tom Ellison, Head of Marketing.

Although we’re young and still learning we have definitely taken our first steps on the journey to becoming a resource first and revenue generating website second.

Through our resources section we aim to release regular articles that help hiring managers, recruiters, HR professionals and entrepreneurs with their business growth and hiring goals.

We don’t stop there, we realise that candidates both passive and active are central to Stryve, without them we wouldn’t exist. Which is why we continue to release help guides for securing your next dream role, tips on interviewing and CV best practice support.

Ultimately, with our new website we wanted to tell the story of hiring in a new and much more exciting light. Hiring software can often be overengineered, dull and miss key features that people are screaming out for.

As you move through the site you have the option to dive straight into finding a solution for your pain point. Whether that’s how to save time, improve diversity, remain GDPR compliant or build engagement programs – the website gives you the opportunity to build your own bespoke solution by selecting your business pain points.

The awards evening which takes place on Friday 3rd November at Wembley Stadium promises to be a glamourous affair and if we don’t manage to come away with the silverware this time around, we’re excited to be rubbing shoulders with other up and coming businesses on a national scale!
